DESIGN STATEMENT This renovation updates a compact 1960s home by improving flow, functionality, and connection to outdoor living, while retaining its original character—kauri rafters, sarked ceilings, and timber joinery. A previously compartmentalised layout has been opened into a cohesive kitchen & dining area, whilst retaining a separate living ( media ) space. Built-in elements and a reconfigured kitchen increase efficiency, while a new master suite with ensuite and improved storage brings the plan in line with contemporary living. The result is a balance of preservation and modernisation—enhancing how the home works without losing its original warmth.
